For all nature lovers the Volčji Potok Arboretum is an attractive park with high diversity of flora, which consists of a French park, an English park, six lakes and many scenic paths for the visitors. The history of the park dates back to the 19th century, when the Souvan family set up the first park on their own property. Later the park gain on its research value, because it was used for exploratory purposes. The Volčji Potok Arboretum is a natural habitat with a high biotic diversity recognized as cultural monument of national importance. Especially colorful is in spring time, when millions of blooming tulips and daffodils create a real wonderland.

This peaceful and old-fashioned town below the massive Kamnik-Savinja Alps mountain chain is one of the oldest and most historical towns in Slovenia. At first it was an important medieval town, but later it became an industrial town and today it is treated as a town with a rich history, festivals and as a tourist destination. The most remarkable street is the Šutna street, once the street of craftsmen. Kamnik also owns two medieval castles on the hill: »Mali grad« or Small castle (a castle with a small romanesque chapel) and »Stari grad« or the old castle (it is located high above the town).

The Kamniška Bistrica river has a mysterious source where water flows out of the rocks. It is a typical Karst source, where water comes out of the rocks when the underground water reaches a certain level. Just 300 meters away from the spring of the Kamniška Bistrica river there is the deep gorge of Veliki and Mali Predaselj. Because of the very stiff rocks in this part of the valley, the river created a gorge that is only a few meters wide, but very deep. From the bridge breathtaking views of turquoise water and huge river rapids can be admired.

The Old town of Kranj is a historical medieval town that stands on an outstanding geographical position – it stands on a conglomerate outcrop between the rivers Sava and Kokra. Kranj is the only town in the world that rises above a 30-metre-deep canyon. The Old town of Kranj is one of the most charming towns in Slovenia, with an interesting Gothic and Baroque architecture and with an amazing view of the Alps. The preserved old town is known for its medieval skyline shaped town walls, the castle, and church towers. At every step, you can feel the love for culture and the greatest Slovenian poet, France Prešeren.

The medieval town of Škofja Loka is one of the best preserved towns and the oldest settlements in all Slovenia, dating back to the year 973. Discover Škofja Loka and its thousand-year-old culture, art and natural beauty. The center of social life with many excellent places to taste the local food and drinks presents the scenic old town square, which stands on river terraces, and comprises the Town Square (Plac) and the Lower Square (Lontrg). In the town, you can also find and admire the old St. Jacob’s church and the Škofja Loka Castle, which offers a panoramic view of the Slovenian Alps and surroundings.
