Kobarid is a small town mostly known as one of the scenes of the First World War – here took place the Battle of Kobarid in October 1917, which was the bloodiest battle in history on the Slovenian territory. The consequences of the War are reflected by the charnel house with 7014 mortal remains of known and unknown Italian soldiers. Another historical legacy is the Napoleon bridge which was constructed in 1750 and received its name when Napoleon's troops marched across it. Beside a huge historical legacy, Kobarid is also known for its breathtaking nature – the emerald Soča river and the Kozjak and Boka waterfalls are just a few of the many wonders that will leave you open-mouthed.
